Today (29th April 2021) marks our sons 28th Heavenly birthday and we miss him terribly.
It will be nearly 3 and half years on from the devastating acquittal verdict you delivered at our sons’ trial that has left us totally destroyed and broken!
3 ½ years of ongoing and continuing torture for us, knowing the person who admitted to killing our son is currently walking the streets a free man, whilst we are locked into a life sentence of grief and pain, knowing we will never get to see, hear or hold our much loved son again.
You had one job to do and that was to ensure that justice was properly served!
We watched and listened in court as the pathologist described the excessive force Kobe Murray used to stab Ryan through his sternum and the knife entering his heart.
We watched and listened in court as the police doctor confirmed he carried out a full body medical examination on Kobe Murray whilst he was in custody, confirming NO MARKS could be found on his body to indicate he had been attacked.
We watched and listened in court to Kobe Murray state, “he took the knife off a friend, because he thought it was a stupid thing to have in there”
We watched and listened in court to Kobe Murray state, “he stabbed Ryan accidentally after stepping in to break up a fight. Adding: “I didn’t mean to do it. I stabbed him”
We watched and listened in court to Kobe Murray state, “He Felt Bone as he stabbed Ryan”
We watched and listened in court to Kobe Murray state, “He then ran out of the club with his two friends Ethan Jones & Bradley Hackett”, whilst our Ryan lay dying on the dance floor.
We watched and listened in court to the prosecution state, “Kobe Murray confessed to his two friends that he had stabbed someone in the bar and Bradley Hackett had noticed "watery blood" on a knife which Murray produced as they jumped inside the car which Ethan Jones then drove out of Stourbridge”
We watched and listened in court to Kobe Murray state, “He then discarded the knife in undergrowth several miles away from the club, which police later recovered”
We watched and listened in court to Kobe Murray state, “his clothes and mobile phone had been destroyed”
We watched and listened in court to Kobe Murray state, “He then went into hiding at a cousins flat in Tipton”
We watched and listened in court to Kobe Murray state, “His defence statement was a complete lie and he was not drunk (as he had originally stated) when he stabbed Ryan and was in fact sober”
We watched and listened in court to Kobe Murray state, “When interviewed several times by Detectives he replied NO COMMENT to every single police question”
We watched and listened in court to all the testimony and evidence presented throughout our trial and did not make any fuss or raise awareness of the pain and stress we were all going through as a family during the trial.
We watched and listened quietly and patiently, respectfully waiting for justice to be served for our son.
You, the MEMBERS OF THE JURY then delivered your unimaginable “NOT GUILTY” verdict that left us all completely numb and shell shocked!
It was just as painful again for us as that very moment we found out Ryan had lost his life. It was as though he had been killed yet again. This time by you the Jury!
What were you watching and listening to in court, members of the Jury?
Just how did you come to the decision that you did?
The very least we deserve as Ryan’s parents is to understand the reasons behind the jury’s decision?
We will never give up fighting for our son!
From Ryan’s parents: Ade, Jill & Phil
Please share our post in memory of our beautiful son Ryan!
