We met Home Secretary Sajid Javid on Monday and he has offered to assist us in our fight for Justice For Ryan.
We are calling for a change in the law. The family want the jury to give us reasons on how they have reached their decision so they can be challenged and families be given the right to appeal against acquittals that are considered "perverse" in serious criminal cases.
For Ryan to be stabbed to death in a nightclub and the person responsible to walk away without any punishment for his actions
, we believe is perverse. We are fighting for that change in the law
We maintain that Ryan was killed unlawfully and it was completely the wrong decision.
We also held a meeting with Barry Sheerman MP which also went extremely well and like the Home Secretary he has offered to also support our campaign.
He will be raising the details of our case with MPs at next week's meeting of the All Parliamentary Group of Miscarriages of Justice.
We'd like to say a big thank you to Stourbridge MP Margot James for arranging our meetings and also to Margot's assistants Simon Phipps and Katy Mallinson for looking after us all on both days.
A further meeting is now being planned with the new Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice, Paul Maynard, and the we are also set to meet with the Crown Prosecution Service later this month.
We have come away feeling very positive following our discussions and we are hopefully moving forwards in our fight for justice for Ryan.
We now need to raise tens of thousands of pounds to further our campaign and to help pay for legal costs we will shortly incur. Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so online at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/justiceforryan
Thank you everyone for your comments and support to date. We could not do this without your support.
Love from Ade, Gill, Phil and everyone at Justice For Ryan.
